So many people wish that they could get rid of pimples. There are countless lotions, soaps, and pills that are supposed to help you clear up your acne for good, but they are not always effective.

This is because acne is often a symptom, not the source of the problem. Some skin treatments can clear up the symptoms for awhile, but if the cause is not tended to, the pimples will just keep coming back.

Dermatologists may help you to get to the bottom of your issue, but in many cases, it may not help you to get rid of pimples. The problem is that even many dermatologists don’t really know what causes acne. You will not solve your problem for good, though temporarily they may treat your skin. You may be “throwing good money after bad” in your pursuit of your desired smooth and unblemished skin. Before you start visiting doctors, there are some things that you can try first.

Something that you should keep in mind while you are trying to get rid of pimples is that acne is often caused by an imbalance in the body. Hormones, allergies, and stress can all trigger massive acne attacks. When it comes to hormones, these are hard to control and you may have to wait it out, so just treat the symptom as it occurs, to the best of your ability, and eventually your hormones will calm down. The same goes for if you are pregnant.

Whatever it is that stresses you out, get rid of it, if possible. If, when you are stressed, you sweat, this sweat may cause you to break out. You may have issues with your skin due to high levels of stress in your body. Try relaxation techniques to relieve yourself of stress and you may notice a decline in your acne problem.

One important tip that will help you get rid of pimples is to not mess with them! This is hard, but it is really the best way to deal with them. You could be at risk for serious scars, if you often touch, pinch or squeeze your pimples. Also, squeezing pimples causes the bacteria in them to be transmitted to other areas of your skin, and this will just cause more pimples.

Another thing to keep in mind, especially if you already have acne or oily skin, is that headbands and hats can make the issue worse. This can explain any breakouts you are having on your forehead. Helmets can also cause these issues.

Do your best to stop touching your face or using your hands to rest your face on, as this could be one of your issues. Blackheads are caused by pores that are clogged by oils that come from your hands and face. Also, bacteria on your hands can cause pimples easily.

So if you are trying to get rid of acne, there are many things you can do to try to remedy the issue before you spend a lot of time at the doctor’s.
