Getting Rid of Acne - No More Blemishes
Getting rid of acne is a top priority for any acne sufferer. Acne, appears in different forms and, looks and often feels unpleasant. Anyone who has acne wants to get rid of pimples, blackheads and whiteheads. Keep in mind that acne comes in several different forms and that several factors can contribute to acne; therefore, to clear acne you have to take these factors into consideration.
Before we talk about actual acne treatments, here are a few tips that will help you clear acne.
– Keep your hands away from your face, or other acne prone parts of your body unless you absolutely have to. And if necessary, wash your hands first. Touching transfers dirt and oil and can irritate your skin, making perfect grounds for a breakout.
– Replace your pillowcases and bed sheets frequently (replace your pillowcase every day if possible).
– Always wear clean clothing, even sleeping clothes (this means only wear something once and then wash before wearing again). We may not get something dirty and tend to wear it again before washing; or think that because we’re doing nothing more than sleeping in our pajamas, that they’re not actually dirty when in reality they have picked up dirt, oil and sloughed off dry skin. Acne prone people must be mindful of this.
– Shower frequently. Don’t try to skip a day, that’s a catastrophe for acne prone skin. Cleanse your face when you wake up and at night before bedtime (and even sometime in between if your skin is especially oily).
– Know what’s in your detergent and fabric softener, some detergents contain perfumes or other irritant ingredients. Try to use a detergent free from these ingredients.
– Keep hair out of your face to avoid oil and dirt from transferring to your face from your hair and hair products (which can contain ingredients that contribute to pore clogging). If hair must touch your face (bangs, etc.) clean the places it touches frequently and have oil sheets handy to dab on those spots of your face during the day to reduce oil.
– Consume a lot of water! Water cleanses the body and skin.
These seven tips are important to achieving clear skin and get rid of acne. Now let’s talk about some treatments.
For getting rid of acne fast, you’ll want to utilize treatments that include salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. There are a variety of products that include one of these ingredients from face washes to gels that remain on the skin. For a bad breakout, you might want to consider the face wash in addition to gel being put on the actual pimples or breakout areas (you’ll want to skip areas that are not affected to prevent too much drying out). You can use white toothpaste on a pimple to help get rid of it overnight (never use other colors like blue or you may dye your skin). Using a face wash that also contains exfoliant beads is good for exfoliating while cleansing your face.
No matter how tempting, don’t pop your pimples. They only become uglier and you can spread the bacteria to surrounding areas, just asking for another pimple to pop up.
Whatever the type of acne you suffer, you can be acne free if you are conscious of the things that cause acne. Knowledge is the best acne treatment.
Getting rid of acne fast is about knowing what steps to take.
