Coping With Bleeding Internal Hemorrhoids
The anal canal naturally has hemorrhoid elements that are normal. They are there for the control of the sphincter muscles. These vascular elements help a person control his stool and they are necessary in normal bowel movement.
Bleeding hemorrhoids cause problems in some people. Inflamed hemorrhoids may be caused by stress and irregularity in bowel movement. A person who is constipated may be putting too much strain on his hemorrhoids. Bleeding of the hemorrhoids is common, but to some people this can cause distress.
Hemorrhoids may be inside or outside the rectum. External hemorrhoid problems are less difficult to deal with because one can apply salve over the inflamed area. But internal bleeding because of hemorrhoids may cause problems. Treatment becomes necessary when the hemorrhoids are bleeding and painful. Lack of exercise or unhealthy diet could be causing the bleeding.
Should a person with bleeding hemorrhoids go for surgery as soon as possible? Removal of hemorrhoids through surgery should only be done when the internal hemorrhoids are so distended that they are visible externally. This is particularly true if the hemorrhoid pain causes too much discomfort during bowel movement. Itching may also be a problem for people with hemorrhoids. Fixative procedures for internal hemorrhoids are many and varied, and more often than not, they require no surgery. Fixative procedures are normally recommended to patients prior to the surgery option to lessen the risks.
Home Remedies and Laser Treatment
A better diet is a good way to start managing hemorrhoid bleeding. Food that can soften the consistency of the stool is recommended. A person must always drink water. Laser treatment may be an option for those who can afford it and for those who want a less painful way to get rid of hemorrhoid bleeding.
Soaking in hot water can be used as a first aid measure. A person suffering from bleeding hemorrhoids may soak in warm water for a few minutes several times daily. The warm water can cleanse the inflamed area, providing comfort and relief from pain. Warm water soaking may also stem the bleeding.
A person’s resistance to disease should also be considered. Bowel movement must be done daily. Never put off going to the comfort room when the urge is there. A person with bleeding hemorrhoids should not be made to wait for a long time before going to the bathroom.
